DSHCV is a diverse group of art educators and a chapter affiliate of the Drag Story Hour network, dedicated to raising literacy rates across the Central Valley through creative, educational events for audiences of all ages.
This is our signature programming model of a Drag Storyteller reading books to audiences in libraries, schools, and community spaces. We read, sing songs, do movement breaks, and an arts and craft.

An all-ages, villain-themed spooky story hour featuring playful storytelling and theatrical fun. Presented in partnership with Judging by the Cover Bookstore, this event celebrates literacy with a mischievous twist.

A six-week Black fantasy book club hosted at Take 3 X Grumpy Burger Lady’s in downtown Fresno. Weekly discussions are led by Ms. Gay Fresno 2025, Cerinas Willdohim.
This YA-focused series explores Black fantasy written by Black authors, celebrating imagination, storytelling, and the voices shaping the genre.
